Transportation Services
CareLink’s transportation program is available to people 60 years and older who live in the Metro area. Our transportation services for elderly citizens focuses on providing non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) to doctor appointments. As well as transportation for socialization to and from senior centers, the pharmacy or grocery store, and local shopping centers. Information and Assistance (I&A) coordinates with the transportation team to check available schedules. Stops vary depending on availability. If you live in another provider’s service area, our Information and Assistance Specialists will connect you with the one nearest you.
We ask that you call to schedule NEMT at least 48 hours in advance. All other trips must be coordinated with dispatch day of transport based on availability.
Many of our community’s seniors are homebound or active and unable to drive. When our seniors lose mobility, their health can deteriorate quickly as they are unable to pick up their medications, keep their doctor appointments, or make it to the senior center where they can be active and social. Our transportation team can provide oxygen services and has specialty vehicles that are wheelchair accessible.
That’s why we offer individual and group transportation services for seniors. We want to be sure that any senior in our community can visit the doctor or the pharmacy whenever they need.
If you are experiencing an emergency, please call 911. We are not an ambulance service. We do not have the equipment or personnel required to keep you safe and healthy in an emergency. If you are experiencing an emergency and you need to go to the hospital or emergency room, call 911 immediately.
